Whitney Osei has always been outspoken and ambitious, proving herself to be a leader at a very young age.
The beauty queen, originally from Akyim-Abuakwah capital Kibi in Ghana, migrated to the US at an early age. As a young adult, Whitney faced many obstacles which fueled her desire to achieve success.
African Sweetheart caught up with Whitney to learn a little more about her and why she is the perfect candidate to wear the crown.
I am currently a student at Georgia Perimeter College studying Business Administration but I will be completing a Bachelor of Science degree at Georgia State University in Managerial Science, concentrating on Business Operations Management. I am former Miss West Africa USA 2011 First Runner-Up.
I am also the Founder of Julie A. An African fashion brand that seeks to manufacture all of their items in Africa, enabling us to provide jobs for qualified Ghanaians and artisans.
The reason why I chose to partake in Miss Ghana USA 2014 is to basically inspire young Africans to use their God given gifts and talents to positively impact the world around them. Also i have an initiative that I am currently working on in Ghana called
THE 3 E INITIATIVE: EDUCATION, EMPOWERMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP that promotes economic development in Ghana through EDUCATION, EMPOWERMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP and Miss Ghana USA would be the perfect platform to bring awareness to this project.
I also serve as living proof to all that no matter what obstacles you face in life or no matter how many times you fall down if you work hard, pray and remain persistent you can surpass all of your goals and obtain success.
African Sweetheart wishes Whitney the very best in the upcoming competition!
