The whole idea behind contouring is that you essentially enhance the hollows of your face to make your features seem sharper and your face slimmer. In a way you are highlighting it by enhancing the parts of your face that would naturally, makeup or no, stick out.
By these we mean cheekbones – but contouring allows you the freedom to pick which part of your face you would like to stand out the most. Look at the difference in face below.
As contouring requires the use of heavy makeup, it is definitely not recommended as an everyday look. It's best to try it once in a while for a very special occasion.

Once you’re fully equipped follow the instructions on the pic and you’re good to go!

Start from the nostrils- draw a line upwards past the lash line and extended almost to the hairline. Then add contouring to areas you want to define and or slim down [cheekbones, nose, jawline, and chin. After that start to blend, it helps to work from the outside in ( check out picture 4). Finally apply make up on your eyes and lips and you are done!
